The main difference between the D7 Visa and the Portugal Golden Visa is the length of stay.

The D7 Visa requires a minimum annual length of stay in Portugal of six consecutive months or eight months spread out over a whole year.

The Golden Visa only requires an average of seven days per year in Portugal to maintain your residency status.
